Vice Chair – Local Authority Governor
Julie Griggs has been an LEA Governor since 2012 and is the Stakeholder Engagement & Parent Partnership Governor and H&S Governor. She also shares the Governor training role as well, as monitoring Teaching and Learning.
She lives in the village and joined the governing body as she wanted to give something back to the community, even though her two children didn’t attend the School.
Julie trained as a Nursery Nurse, working in education as a TA when she left school. She has been working part time for British Airways as long haul Cabin Crew for the past 35 years. This allows her to spend time in school getting to know the children. Julie has a passion for singing with her guitar and often spends time singing with the children EYFS and Year 1. A highlight of the school year is accompanying the school choir to Young Voices at the O2 for their annual performance.
She looks forward to continuing to be part of a strong team of governors and staff who are all wanting the best for the children at Sandhurst.
