Welcome to Pankhurst Class

Hi, I’m Mrs Reeves and I am the teacher of Pankhurst Class. I have been working at Sandhurst for many years and have worked in Years 4, 3, 2, 1 and EYFS. I have been KS1 leader for over 10 years and following my move to teaching a Year 3 and 4 class, I am now the KS2 Leader. I take pride in being a mentor to trainee teachers and NQTs at our school.

I like teaching a cross-curricular, creative curriculum tailored to our pupils’ interests. I encourage outdoor learning and love seeing the children engaging in lessons with enthusiasm and passion. Well-being and engagement are key areas for focus at Sandhurst, to ensure we ‘Aim high and be happy’.

Gardening club is an extra-curricular activity I enjoy leading with a fellow colleague. The produce was enjoyed last year by all the hard workers who attend the club and shared with the rest of the school.

I feel so lucky to work in a rural school with such facilities which mean we get to enhance pupils’ learning so we have happy and healthy pupils.

Our Class Name

Emmeline Pankhurst was a British political activist and leader of the British suffragette movement who helped women win the right to vote. In 1999 Time named Pankhurst as one of the 100 Most Important People of the 20th Century, stating “she shaped an idea of women for our time; she shook society into a new pattern from which there could be no going back”.
