Churchill (Yr 6) – Mrs Saunders

Hello, my name is Mrs Saunders and I teach Churchill Class. I started working at Sandhurst Primary School in January 2012, teaching the year 4/5 class. Currently, I am in my ninth year of teaching the year 6 class and I really enjoy helping to prepare the children for secondary school. I am incredibly lucky to work in such a friendly, nurturing and supportive school and have loved the past eleven years. PE is my specialism and I thoroughly enjoyed being PE and Sport Coordinator for four years before passing the baton to Miss Lett. I now have responsibility for leading maths, English and topic across the school.

Shakespeare (Yr 5) – Mrs Bromfield

Shakespeare (Yr 4 & 5) – Mrs Bromfield

Hello, I’m Mrs Bromfield and I am the teacher of Shakespeare Class. I have been working at Sandhurst since 2014 and have worked in several different year groups.
I love all aspects of school life and my favourite subjects are maths, music and art. I’m also subject co-ordinator for music, PSHE and science. Shakespeare Class has a full time Teaching Assistant, Miss Brinsley, and we are also taught by Mrs Lawrence and Miss Chandler, who helps prepare our school meals in the morning.

I like to take the class out and about as much as possible, so try to arrange lots of trips down to Windmill Woods and other places. I am also in charge of the school choir – we take part in Young Voices every year, which is my favourite day of the school year!

Pankhurst Class (Yr 3 & 4) – Mrs Reeves

Hi, I’m Mrs Reeves and I am the teacher of Pankhurst Class. I have been working at Sandhurst for many years and have worked in Years 4, 3, 2, 1 and EYFS. I have previously been KS1 leader for over 10 years and following my move to teaching a Year 3 and 4 class, I am currently the KS2, computing and pupil premium Leader. I take pride in being a mentor to trainee teachers at our school.

I like teaching a cross-curricular, creative curriculum tailored to our pupils’ interests. I encourage outdoor learning and love seeing the children engaging in lessons with enthusiasm and passion. Well-being and engagement are key areas for focus at Sandhurst, to ensure we ‘Aim high and be happy’.

Darwin Class (Yr 2) – Miss Lett

Hello! I’m Miss Lett and I am Darwin’s new class teacher. I started Sandhurst in January 2020.

Things I enjoy doing include going on countryside walks, going on holiday and exploring new places and keeping fit. I have danced my whole life growing up. So if you see me having a little boogie, don’t be alarmed!

I have a degree in childhood studies and education. I have a huge interest in the education system and how things work in schools as well as how children develop and grow

Nightingale (Yr 1) – Mrs Player

Hello, I am Mrs Player and I joined the school in September 2019. I am very excited to be settling into my new role as Nightingale class teacher and have lots of fun things to bring to the learning environment.

Being a NQT I feel ready to give the children lots of exciting opportunities through which they can enjoy learning new things. I like to bring a fresh and dynamic way of teaching into the classroom that will enable all children to get the most out of their time at school. I encourage kindness, respect and community in our classroom.

My favourite subjects to teach are English, Art and History. I also love to bring opportunities for drama and social interaction into all subjects.

Potters (Yr R) – Mrs Lucas

Hello, I’m Mrs Lucas and I am the Reception teacher and SENCo at Sandhurst Primary school. I started my journey at Sandhurst as a Teaching Assistant in 2015. I have been here ever since and thoroughly enjoy my time in KS1 and more recently as the SENCo.

I have a degree in Acting, so you will always catch me and the children dancing and singing our way through the day, whether it be completing Kung Fu punctuation or singing our times tables.

My biggest passion is all things SEN, and I love spending time in all the year groups ensuring all children have equal opportunities!
