Teaching Assistant
Welcome to Darwin Class
Hi, I’m Mrs. Dodson, and I’m very excited to be teaching in Darwin Class at Sandhurst.
After working for 12 years as a system analyst, I decided that the city wasn’t for me and teaching was where I wanted to be! So I retrained for my PCGE in 2015. I have enjoyed working with a variety of age groups, including reception, years 1, 2, and 3, ever since.
Spending time outdoors is one of my greatest joys, and I love extending the learning experience outside of the classroom. I firmly believe that outdoor education has great power in promoting self-esteem, creativity, confidence, play and a child-centred learning approach.
I have a degree in Art History; art has always been close to my heart. I love to add a creative touch to my teaching approach.
I am pleased to oversee the PSHE program at Sandhurst, helping to ensure our children receive both a comprehensive education and assistance with their personal growth.
I’m excited to support and encourage children at Sandhurst as they pursue their education!
Our Class Name
Charles Robert Darwin,(12 February 1809 – 19 April 1882) was an English naturalist, geologist and biologist, best known for his contributions to the science of evolution. He established that all species of life have descended over time from common ancestors, publishing his theory of evolution with compelling evidence in his 1859 book “On the Origin of Species”.
