Welcome to Holmes Class

Hello, I’m Miss Prest and I am delighted to be the teacher of Holmes Class in Year 5. This is my first year working at Sandhurst Primary School, and I am really looking forward to getting to know the children and becoming part of the school community.

Year 5 is one of my favourite year groups to teach, as it is such a transformative year for children. I particularly enjoy seeing each child grow in confidence, independence and character throughout the year, and I feel very lucky to be able to support them on that journey. I believe that getting to know each child as an individual is an important part of teaching, and I aim to create a classroom where children feel understood, supported and, most importantly, happy.

I especially love teaching maths and PE, and I really enjoy the exciting history curriculum in Year 5. I love a hands-on approach to learning, so any opportunity for the class to be creative, explore and get involved in their learning is one we will definitely take! I believe that learning should be enjoyable, engaging and something that children can feel excited about.

I am really excited for the year ahead and for all the learning, laughter and happy memories we will create together in Holmes Class!
